I'm a complete Noob ;)

Hello all.

I'm Shawn, from Downers Grove, Illinois. I'm completely new to dumpster diving. So new, in fact, that I haven't even started yet! I actually just awoke to the idea after reading IGN's article on GameStop treasures!

I'm kind of a big gamer with a small budget, so I'd like to take any opportunity I can to save money.

I know how I must sound compared to you pros. "Get this nerd outta here!" and "He'll never make it to the car!" etc. I'm not trying to step on any toes. I don't really care about any tossed big-ticket gadgets, or canned goods, or even large screen TVs that may have been thrown aside (my HD tv is already bad-ass on it's own, thank you). I'm just in it for the games and/or gaming peripherals. I'm not even expecting to find a mint PS4 or, god forbid, Wii-U.

First and foremost, though: I have no idea if Dumpster diving is legal here, and am wondering where I might find that out? (Preferably a website, as I am phone-phobic)
Of course, if it's not, that pretty much puts a damper on my schemes...

But at least you won't have to hear from me anymore ;)

you can get arrested for that!if its posted no trespassing.beware.if its not i guess you'll find out when you get arrested!

Welcome aboard Shawn! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Illinois for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome aboard! Dumpster diving, is unsafe and a health hazard. Know your dumpster and clientele. Beter yet just come gold panning with me. Lol

Git the gold!

Welcome and be careful out there. Detector #9.webp
