Illinois Seal Fob Find?

I was visiting some relatives in Illinois and found this odd looking what I believe to be a watch fob. It says "Warranted 14KT Gold Plated on Genuine Bronze" on the back and "Seal of The State of Illinois Aug 26, 1818" on the front. Any suggestions on cleaning up this little find would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello ,I found one too, last year, nice ,but almost all the gold is off mine. Great find!
