Been there seen that and it is one grand monument. Though if he were anything at all like most of his progeny, Greatgreat Grandpa Lowbatts did not appear near so bold as those men on the statue.

More than likely keeping the head a little more lowered than that. While both were from Illinois, his brother apparently felt the familial connection to Virginia, joined the Southern Cause and was lost to the family at Perryville.

Must have been some site looking down from the ridge there those days.
