I'll be the teacher tomorrow.....

My 11yr old daughter is going on her 1st hunt tomorrow. This will be the, "will she like it or not hunt. Going to take her to the chip area at her school where I had the 322 coin day. She's bound to find something I hope. Was thinking of peppering it with a few quarters in front of her but I'm not going to unless she's doing real bad. She'll use a Bounty Hunter tracker 2D/707 that my neighbor gave to me. My neighbor works at a U-store It place and
someone left it behind. It's not too shabby on airtests with sensitivity up. We'll see how it goes.
Happy Holidays everyone,

Re: I'll be the teacher tomorrow.....

Maybe take a 2x2 folder and when she gets her first coin, put it in the folder and she will be able to have that as her very first, very special find. Something special always makes kids (and adults) value something that may otherwise be of little value. That might be better than salting the place. Be honest with kids, because if you salt it today, you may have to continue to salt places. By being honest and not planting coins, a child realizes that it's the hunt and not the find that really counts. Anyhow, hope you and your daughter have a great day. Is the wife not interested? Could be a family hobby, yes?

I like your idea TreasureTales. I will do that. I was only gonna salt it if she was getting totally skunked. I feel the same as you when it comes to that kinda stuff. I figured if she did'nt get anything she would be discouraged from trying again. This place is almost impossible to get skunked. I did hit it hard on two outings having a 322 coin day then a 182 coin day. Plus there isn't any real digging involved. Thanks for the advice and Happy Holidays.
