My wife and I dug this out of the ground at about 5 inches down. It is a fork of some sort. We thought at first it was bent but we dug it out and it was obviously made this way. The handle end looks identical to a Hand file where you push on a wooden handle. The fork starts just like a for where the handle ends because it has the bend in the wide area like a fork has but then it splits into two forks. That's where all the similarities end. After that as you can see in the photos the prongs stay wide and are mad into long flat curves to the outside of the fork.

I am at a loss for what it is for. Any help would be appreciated. It appears to be blacksmith made. You can see where some of the rust fell off after we removed it from the ground.

I found what I think are the teeth to a newer version inches away from my silver cache. Wow, that seems like a thousand years ago!
