First thinking this is a corroded IH, its color is unlike any copper i've found.
very light, almost silver.
what i thought were headdress feathers are too close to the edge.
I have compared it to an IH, and I can't get it to align.
thinking I see a star near edge, (Also starting to see oak tree),
Been looking for too long,
Anyone wanna chime in on this? Thanks for looking! & HH!
18X1MM 2.1 grams.

Last pic looks like an IH to me with a bad case of acne.

That's less than half the weight and a millimeter shy of an Indian Head :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:
4.57 Grams and 19mm :dontknow: :dontknow:

Gonna put the green check on this one, Chief went on a serious Diet to lose that weight, flat spot explains Diameter difference. (overall it looks bigger than the IH)
when properly aligned point on Chiefs throat,& headdress are a perfect match.
Odd color shift though...is probably a fatty, have a 62 that is lighter in color.
Great sketch Mike! Thanks to all, & HH!

I have some facts to bring up: The Indian Head Cent when minted from 1859 to part of 1864, was made of a copper nickel alloy (88% Copper, and 12 % Nickel). The reverse design was different in 1859 as well with a laurel wreath without the shield unlike the rest of the years which had the oak wreath with shield. Also if I am not mistaken some patterns were made in 1858. It is also a fact that this alloy is known to corrode fairly well when in the ground. In closing I am not saying you do or do not have an Indian Head Cent but pointing facts from the Red Book that support the possibility of this being a copper nickel Indian Head Cent.
