Heck yea! That one you made for the key fob was really nice. The back story on how the tag ended up where it did would be pretty cool too:icon_thumleft:

Very nice thing to do I would make sure they know what you do and why you like to return it some people could be offended Your a good person

Creskol make sure they want it back. Dirtlooter found one down by him and asked me to try and find a living relative. I found the owners son and he WAS NOT HAPPY about WANTING it back. I don't know if he thought this was a scam but it was sent to him ( it was a ww2 tag) and WE NEVER HEAR ANYTHING from him. Maybe Dirtlooter will chime in here also

I contact the owner first and ask them if they wanted it back. If yes, I would return with a nice message for the person who lost it.

I guess I didn't make this abundantly clear when I said a dog collar tag, but the tag really is a canine collar identification tag and not a military dog tag. I was intrigued by the fact that it was 2600 miles away from home, as the location on the tag is Reno, Nevada. I guess the possibilities are endless as to how it got here, but since my daughter and I found it and we were able to track down the owner, who now lives in Carson City, Nevada, we decided it would be fun to return it. It will go out in the mail tomorrow.

Very thoughtful of you makes you wonder why the tag was so far away from where its residence was.let us know if you hear back

If I hear anything, I will post it here.

Good Luck on the return! :notworthy:

It is on the way home and the owner should get it on Friday.

My daughter made the little plaque that we mounted the tag on. When I mailed the package the first time it was returned to me. My daughter was able to find Mr. Byers daughter on Facebook, and after they chatted back and forth, it was decided to mail the package to the daughter, and she would take it to her dad as a surprise. So we did mail it to her, and got the following messages and photos today:
