The right facing eagle head I believe is WWII, the left facing goes back to Civil War. The left facing eagle dates from 1852 until 1941. Officers button.

Agree with Bosnmate. Just remember that the right and left facing eagle is from the eagles perspective not as we see it. Some get confused on that.

Does your button have a brown enamel coating on it? If so it is a naval aviator button.
