Went out yesterday before this crazy snow hit, and found an old homestead. Area has some connection to the Civil War era, since bullets have been found . Found the following items along with a lot of scrap iron and square nails. The tube looking thing appears to be pewter and hollow with threads on the one end that is slightly tapered. First thought was some type of fuse, but after looking on line found nothing that looks like this one. The iron object has a sharpened wedge inside the round part, might have been used to split something.

That was my first guess, but it is a lot smaller then any I've found before. Makes sense, that you would drive it onto the end of the wood tree and the wedge would expand the wood and keep it in place.

Looks like as Kuger stated. Single tree yoke end.
