It may be "Ives Kendrick & Co" that dates it to the 1830s. Is that a two piece button? If so it would be closer to 1840 and is probably one of the earliest two piece buttons I have seen.It is a civilian button and looks to be enameled and gold gilt.

Yea it's two piece and is gilted. Another button that was a military staff officers button from the 1840's was found nearby.

Were you able to learn anything else out about this button, as I found one exactly the same myself last night. Missing the shank on mine though.
