I bought this Spencer a while ago, and since then it's been my favorite gun. I was able to identify the gun to William E Smith of the 1st NY Dragoons; William used it in 15 major battles in Virginia. One thing I have never figured out about the gun is the letters H.M.P.C. carved in the stock on both sides. If anyone knows what this could stand for, your help would be greatly appreciated.
