Idaho trip; help on where the best place to detect rodeo's and Ski resorts

Hey guys. I am going to Idaho this friday and would like some help out. I am definatly bringing my detector along because i plan on cramming a lot of detecting on the two days my family is staying there. Since there will be nothing else to do except to detect. Every time we go we always stop at a ski resort and my dad said that i can detect there when they walk up the mountain. Since my aunt loves to do that stuff. What are the best places to detect on a ski resort? Since there is no snow this time of year and not a lot of crowds, I wont have any trouble.

Also i am going to detect a rodeo near by to. Probably the first or second day that i am there. Where is the best spot in the rodeo to do that? its all dirt so i should have no trouble retrieving coins.

Hey Freak, where in Idaho are you going? Im in South East Idaho (Pocatello) & would love to meet you if you are in the area! I can show you some parks & schools I hunt. Pebble Creek ski resort is just down the road a ways, & Bannok County Rodeo grounds are a mile from my house.............. ;D

Sun Valley at Ketchum is the grand daddy of all western ski areas. First established in 1936 as a vacation resort for the rich and famous Hollywood set. Probably the best place to search would be under the chair lifts. People taking off their gloves and pulling things out of their pockets are likely to drop rings, coins and other small items off the lifts and into the snow below. I know because I've done it myself. I once found a friend's locker key he dropped from a lift. Miraculously, it didn't sink into the snow and I was able to eyeball it. That happened at Sun Valley, as a matter of fact. Anyway, I read a story somewhere about the locals finding stuff laying on the slopes after the snow melts. But there might still be some goodies below the surface that you can find with a metal detector. Lol.
