Fired up the Sovereign early morning on a pretty campsite on the little north fork. and after a few normal clad cents, dimes, and a 65 quarter I noticed a quarter sized coin partially exposed a few steps ahead of me. I swung the coil over it to "claim" it and no signal! I set the disc. back to nickle accept and loud sig. It turned out to be an 1951 King George the sixth 50 cent Hong Kong. Believe me these are quite unusual in North Idaho wilderness areas. Anyway the day stayed strange. A small flashlight at 6" and one of those "I'm going to keep digging till I find this thing" deals. At nearly 2 feet in sand up comes an old Budwiser Can...Unopened-Has an old style pull tab. I can imagine what the beer would taste like. Even tho it's my brand I'm passing on this one. My wife thinks it's the mother of all those things I call budnuggets. Well bored you enough and pictures too. Any information on the coin out there?

Thats a very cool find. i think you should shotgun the beer in celebration!

I'll give you all a big YUCK on that. Can you imagine what that would taste like, been froze and thawed and probably buried there for 20 years or more.

Hey man is the beer still in it, or did the can rot through and the beer replaced with ground water? It might actually be worth something with the beer still in it! I wouldn't drink it though. It won't make you sick but it would still taste like $#!t.

Ya, Skrimpy, The beers there, and the can is a much heavier aluminum than nowadays. What looks like rust on the picture is actually dirt. Come over and I'll share it with you.

I like the coin. We've all had strange days like that. I found a sealed can of cat food about 5 inches down once.

Maybe you could give the Budwieser lab researchers first dibs on that can of beer. It may contain a new life form or something!

Congratulations!
