I ran across an old mining camp, last year, in the area where I elk hunt in Idaho. I went back there for a few days last week and just got home today. There was quite a bit of junk iron there, but I did manage to find a few keepers. It's pretty hard to find a large cent in Idaho so I was super happy to get one. I have found a few seateds out here, but this is the first quarter. The only other seated quarter I've ever found was in Vermont and it was holed. This one was in pretty good shape. I think that round, bell looking thing is the bottom off a candlestick. Not sure what caliber the casings are from, but I'm pretty sure they were black powder.

I was in Idaho last week visiting a friend that move out there and all I can think about was the opportunity to find seated coins. But I only detected my friends backyard and found a car wash token that had me going for a minute. I’ll have to have my friend get me some permissions on the old farms for next time I go. Thanks for sharing and nice finds

My detecting buddy in Idaho dreams of finding a Large Cent one day. I drive him crazy when I send him pics of my east coast coppers. :laughing7: Not only did you find one, you found a very nice one. Congrats!

Nice finds! Sure like those two coins. Thanks for sharing with us.

Cool finds...Thanks!

Great finds! Just on a guess, I think you have a 50-70 and 45-70 for those 2 rifle casings.

Sweet finds, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comments!

Wow...big congrats on some excellent finds! Those two coins are in great condition. The shells are probably Winchester... 45-70; 45-90... maybe 40-82. They should have headstamps.. WRA ( Winchester Repeating Arms ) and the caliber.
