ID This Button?

My buddy Randy found this on Sunday out in a field. We've all found a lot of colonial buttons in this field. It's a one piece and appears to be a Naval button of some kind. It is dented from the back like it was hit with something. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Early Marine Corps. looks like a MC3. BM will ID what variant. Nice find. 3B by the way the rope is fouled on the anchor.
