Dug near kennesaw... as the pics tell you. The supposed buckle has no stamp on it. Was wondering why, and whose side it could of been on. Additionally, there is a piece that is iron found feet from where minnie balls and buckle were dug. I initially though it was a old plow. Any insight on that is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon B.

It probably had a soldered insignia on the face that fell off. What does the back look like?

This could be a real good one. Here is a picture of page 41 in my Harris book. This one is described as a Militia plain buckle dug at Shiloh. Seeing the back of yours would help. Nice Find!

I think the iron piece is a foot from an old desk or similar piece of furniture.

Reverse Pictures Please .

IMO
A picture of the Back will answer this Thread.

Looks like the "Blank" Militia Plate shown by VN, (Also says 3 Soldiered ,Fastening hooks Missing.)

In that condition it should be easy to see where the hooks were , if they are not there.

Would love to know as I live only 10 min from the Mountain.
Excited Davers

p.s. When was this dug , if you don't mind.
