Are the sides of the base ground on both sides of the point?

If not, then it is more than likely a Yadkin and not a Dalton.

Im really not sure Dfish the edges and the base feel sharp I have a Dalton that I found last year and they both feel the same to me. I will take another pic and maybe that will help you out.
Thanks,
Clint

I don't see Yadkin at all, if it was from NC,(sometimes we find points from bordering states) it would be more Triangular, Also it being from SC Yadkins are usually serrated, again a lot more triangular in shape. Those curved edges are swaying me from a Yadkin, But I really aint no expert on Daltons, so am unsure. JMHO.
I couldn't even have a guess. I'd be very interested to know for sure..

Molly. :)

Yeah Molly this point here was found by me in Greenville S.C. I have tryed to compare it to several different points and really no luck. I have several yadkins but like you say they are alot more triangular.

Well I was only kidding but they could just as easily be in the carolinas if they're in Va. I was referring to the pre Clovis site, Cactus Hill, Va.

Very Possible Soill I have found Coastal Plains Chert all the way up here in the piedmont and my buddy actually has some Black flint not like the other post I have but he say it came from Va a local flint I guess.

I think its definetly a woodland triangle ( by the random flaking), as there are many many types, but not a Yadkin.

Molly.
