I have found these items at two old homesites and I finally got them cleaned up. The flat disc/stem thing says patent on it but no date. It has a ring around it which is actually a rope or cord. The triangle thing says catch-on on it and I have no idea what the little thing is with the keyhole and little gem of some type in it.

First item I have no clue. Probably farm or equipment related.

The second item is a sock/garter clip. Could have been for mens socks or ladies garters...

Third item--looks cool. Can you provide a close up of the stone?

Best Wishes,

Pic a little dark but if brass the first item may be an escutheon from a tub/shower.

You may want to try using a darker background, such as blue, for better pics or adjust the brightness and contrast.

Thanks. Here are 2 more pics . Next time I will try another background. What type of blue do you suggest? Electric blue, navy, carolina?

I tried many colors selling on eBay and I found that blue like your pool table avatar made the best pics for me. Dark green and red was ok also but blue was best IMO. Outside in sunlight is best or Halogen indoors and be careful of shadows. Flash off.

I do many of my photos of brass items on a pale seafoam green background.  I try to do silver coins on blue or pale blue.  The thing with darker colors is that it induces your camera to take a flash photo (which can be a pain if you don't have a photo comp. setting on the camera).  The less pattern in the background, the better--and the exception is that wood grain seems to look great with gold items. I actually prefer the seafoam now for all brass and copper items.  Silver I still prefer blue, although the seafoam is almost as good.  Here are a few shots for you to judge for yourself:

The first picture of the tube on top of a disk could be from an old roll down window shade. I don't know though, just taking a guess. Old shades had a few metal parts. They went in the fire after the were worn out. It is common to find the parts at old home sites.

Do you suppose the keyhole is one of these?
