I found this button and cannot ID it. Possibly 1800,s. The button is 11/16 Th's round. The front has a large anchor with a background of coiled rope. The back does not have a loop but was sewn on via a small hole in the raise back. It is a two piece button. I don,t think it is significant or valuable but I would like to know what it is.

OK got the back ID'ed. Anyone seen the front before. Large anchor with a coiled rope background. Nothing attached to the anchor at all. Would like to see a good picture of one like it. Anymore guesses?

Thanks, CRUSADER and bigcypresshunter.

American and British Navy use the fouled anchor. It appears to be a fashion button.

There are many varieties of the anchor with rope border but they are all fashion as far as I know.

It is from a park in an old port town. Probably fashion. The rope coil actually covers the entire background and the anchor is on top of it. A little different from most.

Oh well I did get a Large Cent, George? Still working on it.
