A good friend recently found this and when he told be he found a point with a lightning bolt I wasn't sure what to think. Once he showed me I have never seen one with this type of inclusion...it does look like a lightning bolt! He was leaning on the Clovis side because of the "Flute" but to me it looks more like a basal thinning flake. And the concave base is not very deep. No doubt that it's old but I am stumped on an ID. Any ideas?

Edit: Found in NE New Mexico

Also would you agree its petrified wood? Thanks for looking....

There are a couple of different paleo points in NM that are potential candidates.

Plainview, Belen, Midland, Milnesand, can have that type of shallow indented base.

A local collector looked at it today and he said he believes it's a Plainview and that it is petrified wood. Wish it was mine....Thanks for the input. I have never heard of a Belen it's so similar to the Plainview just from a more specific region in Southern NM. Cool stuff!!
