There is too much luster in the photo, turn off the flash and get it in natural lighting, then take a photo (keep it dry). You say it has a hardness of 5? Are you sure? From this photo it is probably a hydrothermally altered rock made conglomerate (mix of minerals). Red color comes from iron staining. Paleness in the rock is indicative of hydrothermal leaching. There is also a little purple in it witch could mean a of tint of manganese. I could be off, get a better photo. Good luck.
