I found this rock a couple years back in Southern Ontario. It has alot of surfaces that are shiny and it seams like a bunch of tiny shiny thin rocks put together and it is a light greyish brown.
I also have a rock like this that has the same attributes but it is white and from a distance looks like talc (except for the reflections that talc dosent have) Thanks

And sorry for bad quality with my iPhone plus there are two much reflections :/

Sorry, but there is not to much one can make out from your pics.
Try using the macro setting (flower symbol) on the camera to get close-ups. :)

However from your description it sounds either related to Mica schist or some other mica rich rock.
Could however also be a feldspar rich rock.
Try scratching one of the shiny pieces with a knife - Mica is easily scratched. Feldspar will not get scratched by a knife.

Did the test and further research and it's mica! Thx EU by far best member on the site (personal opinion)

The broken surface looks strange to be marble.
Get us a close-up, please?

Looks much more interesting then I expected!
I am also not quite sure what is there, I'll have to refresh my memory on marble... :)

Have you tested hardness? If memory serves marble close to 6 on the moh's scale.

Is that blue colour from the surroundings or is it the stone?
I know moonstone (a feldspar) can look pretty boring in a rough state.

Results! The scratch test revealed that it's almost has a 6 hardness. Ok so here's my concern...
I scratched my other marble and when I'm scratching the 2 the real marble feels alot harder but easier to scratch than the one we don't know what it is. Also when I scratched the marble it scratched of in crumbs similair to my micas scratch test.

The other marble -- is it more fine grained? That can make a difference how the scratch test feels. :)

I'll have to dig trough my books still, give me a day, been busy today.
That one is different to what I'm used to see in my area, sort of has my interest peaked. LOL :tongue3:

Another possibility, speculation from my part, is that the this one could be a dolomitic marble (i.e. recrystallized dolomite).
It is slightly harder then calcite or limestone. Silicate minerals will also the characteristics of the stone if they are present.
I'll just agree that it looks like its marble, the second shot made a huge difference. :)
