the item on the left reminds me of a key hole cover to a padlock

Good guess, Mojjax. It is the broken-off main body of an antique British-made padlock's brass keyhole cover. The crown mark with "VR" stands for Victoria Regina, which is Latin for Victoria, Queen (of Britain). So, it was manufactured sometime during the reign of Queen Victoria, which was from 1837 to 1901. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Victoria

Edit: Taz420's post and mine show up one minute apart. :)

Solved.

Now whats the right item?

The item on the right appears to be very thin stamped-brass. Combining that characteristic with its form, I think it is a pants strap-adjustor or garter-strap buckle. (Being only a bit wider than a US penny, its width is to narrow for a suspenders-strap buckle.)
