Found this in an old field close to an older home. Looks almost greenish behind the light rust. Measures about 3 inches long x 1.5 inches wide.

Spear head of some sort? Your ideas are very much needed.

I am having a senior moment and can't remember theproper terminology, but it is this piece off of a knife:

looks kind of like a piece of door hardware, a plate around the latch.. it could be a spear head... Cool find
