Hi all..I would like your thoughts on age of these three items if pos..thanks in advance..I found them at an old military constabulary site here in n/z..the site was occupied from 1869 till about 1880.. occupied by mainly, british. irish etc the proof marks in the opened case if it isnt clear to view (and I have it upside down..sorry).. show.. a stamped lion..a stamped anchor a stamp of something I would struggle to explain properly but like a tower with a couple of arms out one side !!! then the numbers 1 6 5 0 6 4 with the stamp of MS a 3 under it... also guys the little medallion is an intricate piece of ??? shows a bird like a grouse laying on a bed of leaves and appears to be washed in a gold gilt ,a pin at the back like a brooch, not a button type back...lastly what do you think the four ringer bullets belong to.they arnt enfeild as I have heaps of them and no rings ..again thanks a lot, des from n/z

I believe the lion in that posture represents English sterling .925. The Anchor represents Birmingham (since 1773). The third mark (an 'L'?) appears to be the mark representing the year 1885.
Don...
that would stack up mate..well done two to go lol

Cheers Des,
The avatar is an optical illusion. The white triangle doesn't exist, as such.
I have the name of the designer, somewhere ::)
BTW. I just added to my first post above.

The Maker's Mark does appear to be 'MS', but I can only find MS makers in London, not Birmingham.

There was a london based watch maker called Max Steyerman 1885-1887 Watch Case Maker he used the Silver Hallmark of the Birmingham office, I think this is your Man. :icon_thumleft:
