ID help on new site

I have found a new private property homesteads (4 in all).They have not been disturbed in 30 or 40 yrs if at all.I was salivating today when I was given a tour.Complete woods with rubble of stones for each foundation.I picked up the lantern knob after kicking leaves and I knew where to ID it.TREASURENET!! I was crazy with fever when I cleaned the end off and seen Sept 19 186? stamped on the end.(is it the weekend yet!) It says M. ?. COLLINS PATENT Can anyone help? Also I put the piece of pottery in my pocket to get a better time frame also. More to come!!! (Where is my shovel??) OH yeah BRING DFX.
