ID help needed

Hi, I found this old pocket watch under a large tree yesterday, can anyone tell what the letters are? I know the one is an L , but would that be the first or last initial ?

Also this fitting was under the same tree, is it an old gas lamp fitting? If so how old? Thanks.

Second item is a gas fitting from late 18th to early 19th century.

The item with the script letters is actually a lid from a small container, rather than part of the pocket watch.

This container was a small commercially made product, that likely held a cosmetic or pharmaceutical product circa. 1890-1920. The script letters may be attributed as an advertising motif for manufacturer.

It matters not for propane, natural or any "gaseous" substance. That is handled through the regulator, if for modern type applications, ie, stoves, water heaters, etc.
It appears that the object is merely a decorative "elbow" to help connect whatever it was supplying. Most likely with 3/8" fitting.
My guess would be for a lighting fixture.
