Found these a couple of days ago at an 1890s to early 1900s steel mill housing site.
The impression on the aluminum star looks sort of like a cup of hot coffee with some stars in front of it or a flag.
The impression on the heart pin looks kind of like the Lincoln memorial but I think there are wheels on it and it may be a trolley car. Any ideas what they signify?

Re: ID help needed

The one in the middle part of a good luck token. Its missing the outer round part probably cut off. I have one like it and it was from WW2 with the bomber squadron number on it. Mine has" Do you want to f... " on it and may be thats why yours is cut....aa

Re: ID help needed

The heart-shaped item is a Carhartt brand overalls button.

Re: ID help needed

Thanks guys. PBK I also found this Carhartt Overall & Glove button not too far away and didn't pay attention to the middle of the button. Carhartt was established in the 1889. Is there anyway of dating the button since they're still in business?

The center one is a cut out section of a good luck charm that they use to have machines you could stamp your name on...they could be found at fairs, dept stores..some one has a pic of the machine posted on here some where....
This mahine?arcade stamped lucky tokens.jpg

I guess it could be. I dont see a cup of coffee, but I do see a flag with about 5 or 6 stars.

Although this particular variety doesn't seem to be listed, other Carhartt heart-shaped buttons (same design but with text above the car, such as "Union Made") are attributed as c. 1900-10 in the booklet Pictorial Overall Buttons by Adams & Albert. So, I'd guess yours is probably around 100 years old, too.
