Found this today relic hunting in a Civil War camp. I don't think it is Civil War period. It is silver or silver plate. It is 1 1/4" Tall and 1 1/8" Wide. Hollow on the inside and about 1/8" Thick. It is very light weight. Has the words GOOSE GANDER on it with a picture of a goose or a gander. It has a piece that goes on the bottom that seals it off. I broke it off like a dummy. I thought maybe it would come apart, but it was made with the bottom sealed on it. Thanks

with the bottom sealed I also should ask.

Re: ID ( GOOSE GANDER)

Goosey Gander... I think it's a bell too.

GOOSEY, GOOSEY, GANDER
Goosey, goosey, gander,
Whither dost thou wander?
Upstairs and downstairs
And in my lady’s chamber.

There I met an old man
Who wouldn’t say his prayers;
I took him by the left leg,
And threw him down the stairs.

Re: ID ( GOOSE GANDER) No Bell

It is not a bell. I took some pictures of the bottom to show how narrow it is. It also has the word STERLING on the bottom.

Re: ID ( GOOSE GANDER)

A childs teething ring top. I think that a ring of mother of pearl was attached to the loop. Also they were always made of sterling.
