ID for Tool or ?

Found this item today. Would guess it to be some sort of tool, possibly for scrapping. Seems it would have two wood handles and work like a draw knife except the front edge is the sharp part. I'm sure I should know, however I've never see anything quite like it. Any info appreciated.

Take it sharp side up and drive it into a block of wood or set it in concrete and you have a boot scraper.

There are varied handles,some with tangs exposed.
Maybe a chopping knife.
