ID caliber and make of sabots?

Hunted a site today that had a skermish between CSA Mounted Texas Cavalry being pushed off by two Union Brigades, many mounted, so it has a few pistol slugs here and there. (Most of the bigger rifle slugs, (easy pickens) have been detected I believe.) Anyway- If anyone can tell caliber and makes by the picture below I'd love to hear a definative or even a good guess. Those are 12 ga Rem New Club bases and two weaties and a nickle for size estimating...

the bullet on the left looks to be a .54 Sharps (CW)...the bullets on the right look like modern .38s to me - check and see if they have fine vertical lines in the recessed groves....those indicate modern bullets.
