We've just had an ice storm here in Okie land.....It's beautiful but I am so thankful that we didn't lose our electricity which usually happens when we have ice like this.

Looks like it could have been worse. We got another 8-10 inches of the real soft and fluffy snow this morning.

Boy I do not like getting caught on the highways in that kind of weather. Oh buy the way don't stand around under any huge cottonwood trees when they get all iced up like that. Nice shots! Looks like a world made of glass crystal.

No way will I trade a couple of feet of snow for two inches of ice, Charmin. I can drive on snow but ain't nobody can drive on ice. Y'all take care, stay off the roads and be sure and check on the ederly cause they're the worst in the world about just havin to get out after an ice storm (at least my Dad down there always is) Still, pretty pics. Take care and Merry Christmas!

Though the pictures are pretty, ice storms can be quite devastating. Stay safe and warm.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! And RGINN, we are being really careful--I haven't been out of the house except to feed the animals. We're staying off the roads for sure!
Everyone have a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

We only got a little ice then it turned to snow, about 10". The grader operator uses my driveway to turn around so he backed almost up to the house, dropped the blade and plowed the driveway. We got out today but we barely got back in. Got stuck at the end of the drive, got going and got stuck again about half way. I just left it. Don't have to go anywhere, got enough firewood and plenty of food. I think a lot of folks in KS and OK just stayed home.

Nice wildlife shots, do you feed those animals, or have a BIG lens ?

Both! We usually feed throughout the winter months and they get used to seeing us, so I can get lots and lots of pictures. My husband and daughter are both deer hunters and a few years ago we decided to start supplementing to see how it would affect their horn growth. We've got a few really good bucks and a few dinks. We feed corn chops, creep feed, cattle cake, milo, etc. They like the corn the best! :)
Thanks for the comments Rick! Merry Christmas!

:icon_scratch: Now I have heard that if you put a little salt on certain animal's tails you can get pretty close to them, and even catch them. So was wondering if that is how you got that ribbon around that nice bucks neck? :dontknow:

:laughing9: LOL.......As long as we're feeding them, they'll stand still for anything! :tongue3:
