The Barber Says hello

Just got a new permission on a abandon home . Story is it belonged to the original town Barber . House dates late 1800’s. Have watched it for years , drive by nearly every day. Finally see someone cutting the grass and I turned a U quick ! The gentleman says it belongs to his sister and she bought it years ago sight unseen ? The home is in really bad shape so it has just been left in this shape. He said feel free to detect it all you want . He tries to keep the grass down and that’s all they do the home . First run was 1.5 hours after work and I will defiantly make many returns . Huge yard I may covered a 1/4 of the front yard. Tootsie toys, 1931 cast iron National cap gun in amazing complete shape, tokens , 4 buffaloes , 4 Indian head pennies, 2 mercury dimes, 1 barber dime and twenty wheaties . Absolutely the best hunt I’ve ever had and so much yard still left to cover . Barber was a 1910, mercury 1936,1941,buffalos 1929,1936 and two yet to be determined , IHPs 1905,1907 and 1897! My first Barber and my first Indian !

Sweet property! I'd hit that same 1/4 of the lawn again and again, let alone the rest of it!

Wow, congratulations. Great opportunity. It will be nice to see how much is found overall.

A nice assortment of finds.I would go over every inch of that property several times. Congrats on your finds.

If you didn't find anything else that would be an awesome hunt. Maybe offering to help the man in keeping the lot clean would lead to many future hunts.

Great place to hunt, congrats on the nice finds! :occasion14:

Looks like a terrific start and a very respectable hunt in most anybody’s book. I don’t know how you operate, but I go low and slow over the whole yard using a grid pattern and then I use a different detector working at a 90 degree angle to the pattern I used for the first go round. I always find a few items on the second go round that got missed the first time. I sounds like you got permission to detect as much as you like so good luck. It looks like you may have a lot of potential for some cool finds.

Congratulations, stay safe and keep swingin.

Nice "U"! It was worth the wait, congrats on the recoveries.

great finds. I hope you do that well on every return to the place
