and Who's heart they cut out to give the Family ?

Never Give a DNA Sample, if you can help it.

PHILADELPHIA
-- The parents of a Marine sergeant who died while stationed in Greece say that they discovered weeks after his funeral that his body had been sent home without a heart - and that the Department of Defense later gave them somebody else's heart in its place.

Craig and Beverly LaLoup, who are suing the department, said Tuesday that authorities told them 21-year-old Brian LaLoup had shot himself in the head during a party at the U.S. Embassy compound in Athens, where he worked a security detail.

Why would someone need an autopsy if they shot themselves in the head?

Well, with a well documented autopsy report, no matter what happened they can "prove" that it was a "suicide".

how would a trained Killer in the Marines,
Shoot them self in the head on Purpose,
& Survive long enough to reach the hospital before Dying ?

My guess he shot himself in the head, after his heart was removed. :(

jeff of pa:

What do you think the odds are his heart was stolen and sold?

As for anyone shooting him or herself in the head and surviving - the human body is funny that way. Some people survive things you'd think would kill them in a nanosecond - nail from a nailgun to the dead, drilling holes in the head, etc., etc. Other people die when one might think anybody could survive that.

Very sadly, there is a absolutely unacceptable rate of suicide in our armed forces - including people who've been discharged. The stress of multiple tours of combat duty is more than some people can take - and far more than our nation should ask anyone to take.

Good luck to all,

Jeff something smells fishy here. Shades of Pat Tillman's death in Afghanistan?

We will NOT go quietly into the night!

Treasure Hunter:

Was Rep. Gabby Giffords shot in the head at what amounted to point blank range?

Personally, I don't see any parallel between the case of the US Marine and Pat Tillman. That was an eye-opening documentary about his death.

I know this wasn't meant for me O_B, &
many people talk about Gifford like she is a hero or saint,
so again, I don't want to cause arguments,
But I do believe she survived because of her Status.

I Do think Medical advances are there for the privileged few.

in other words Money Talks.

add to that exaggerations by the media over head wounds,
that could have been a scrape :dontknow:

and I don't want this thread to be about her.
=========
But there still seems to be allot of questions here.

LaLoup seemed to have a dream job.
Now I'm only guessing, since I don't know what Greece,
Or Embassy Life is like. But, I'd guess he had it good.

add to that

when they mentioned his heart was missing they didn't promise to investigate,
they sent a replacement Heart ?

it obviously looks like some parts farming went on.
& the fact the family was upset & they tried to cover says
he wasn't a doner.

Military tried to hide the cause of Tillman's death, missing heart raises questions on this marines death.

We will NOT go quietly into the night!

add to that, they didn't take his Kidneys, or any other part, just the heart
makes me think it was removed for a specific purpose.

they had a use for his heart

Or his heart would have shown it wasn't a suicide.

This was a United States Marine, NOT a Greek citizen! In other words, he was the property of the United States Gov't while a Marine and as such, what authority does any part of the Greek Gov't, be it a local Greek hospital or that nation's gov't itself have keeping any part of this Marine's body? This looks like a major problem for all concerned and my sympathy goes out to his man's parents for a number of reasons. As jeff of pa has said, it sort of makes one think that his particular heart was removed for a specific reason and I hope that reason wasn't for what it easily is beginning to appear it was! They have desecrated a US soldier's body, not in preforming the original autopsy but in removing the heart, not replacing it, and saying nothing! As a Veteran, I say this is disgraceful, no matter how it turns out, but our gov't should find out and find out now what actually happened! We owe it to this Marine and his family. This whole story sounds a shade hinky to me.
