It has numbers like a ruler every inch. The little eye on the end where it obviously pivoted. Im wondering if it was something on a gun?

Did they make them out of solid brass? I did not know.

I found pictures of all brass French folding rulers but they look thin, this thing is like an eighth of an inch thick!! Would have been a heavy ruler!

Yea,all of em I have seen were thin too.I dont know?I have never seen anything like it on any firearm though
