I had some oral surgery today to uncover implants which was a TOTAL disaster. I get out of the VA hospital in Detroit and come home. I wasn't home for more than an hour when the phone rings. Keys dropped in a canal boat slip. Told them I would come back to Detroit. I get there and find them in about 5 minutes.

So back in Detroit, decided to make a dive. Well what you see is what I got.

A silver ring, lock, 1972 penny and junk. Anybody else find a 27" long drill bit?

Cartridge is marked US. Company was in business till 1926. That's all folks!

I wish I could have done more. Too much pain. I am hoping this will go away fast. Going to try again tomorrow. LOL glutton for punishment

Implants are a bone of contention in my household. The wife put out $3K and lost the implant 6 weeks later. Brave soul you are for going out after have anything done in the mouth. Never found a drill bit that long but I do own one.

Dentist and 27 inch drill should not be in the same post....
At least the bit was not dropped while you were under it.

5 minute recovery. No wonder you get called.
Congrats.
Better luck on the implants. As long as they are secure in healthy bone you stand a great chance of success.

Scuba...I had oral surgery Friday in preparation for an implant...I THOUGHT I was in the clear as this tooth was knocked out years ago (ATV racing GNCC Series) plus there was no nerve due to the root canal done then. WOW...was I wrong!! I failed to remember there were roots still deeply in place. It's Tuesday and I'm still sore, so i could NOT imagine going diving right after. You're one TOUGH SOB! Lol...drill reminds me of the old movie "Driller Killer"...ha! Thx for sharing, Ddf.

Well done on the recovery. Hope your chompers get healed soon. Oh, yeah, I always make sure when I am anywhere near water I bring my 27 inch drill bit with me.:tongue1:

They probably used it when they built the dock in the 1900's. Had to be from a hand drill. I wasn't going to bring it up but I thought it was an interesting relic. I love bell tones on the CZ-21's. You never know what they will be.

Scuba, VA and implants in the same sentence, are they doing this now? Hope they've got you on a round of amoxicillin, used to eat 'em like candy. Good luck !!

I actually cheated. They refused to do them in Detroit last year. When I was in Utah this winter they authorized me going to the private sector since I was 3.5 hours away from SLC VA hospital. They were authorized and started out there and now the VA has to finish them here. It was a major win for me. Yes, the Detroit VA is finishing what was started in Utah. Problem was they didn't have the right stuff so I was cut open for nothing. Now I have to go back in three weeks and have fun again. BARF.

Congrats on your finds, and finding the keys for the people. Hope you heal up soon.

Hope you get to feeling better and find these folks missing keys. Mighty nice of you to try and help them after surgery.

I have found about 3 or 4 of the "junk" thing in the far right of this image. I didn't figure out what it was until the second one I found.

Drum roll..........Its the spout off a cardboard salt package:hello2:

Makes perfect sense! Thanks. It didn't even register to me. I just thought trash.
