I want an IRON tone from my GT.

The only thing that would make this machine great, for me, is if I could add a low tone for iron to the umpteen tones I get for everything else.
I'm wondering if there might be a modification to accomplish this.

Just hunt in pinpoint mode if your wanting to dig it all. Then check target in discrim and you'll know it's iron. Or if its feasible try on an Etrac and use ferrous tones, it will growl at the iron beautifully.

Roger. I am reverse-discriminating. I love pulling minnies at 2 ft down, after my buddy goes by with his old Arado. This is probably the deepest seeking machine I've owned, other than the Saxon X-1, which was rediculous. After digging 6 feet down, past the water line and pulling out a pop top, I sold that beast of a machine.

With the GT you can turn Iron Mask off to hunt in all Metal. Depending on the targets orientation the sounds in All Metal can change.

Y'all are making me want to strap the Ron's meter on and take the GT out for a spin this afternoon, but I'm so tired of 90 plus degree heat after working in it most days. Hurry up cooler weather.

Took the GT out today and it actually sounded off in DISC on a small iron buckle. Go figure; I was happy to dig it. I also pulled an Indian head penny that I have no idea how to clean, and a large gilt eagle button that I'm gonna post on the "what is it" section here in a minute.

What happened to that small iron buckle, it had a halo in the soil from rust and that made the target appear better to the detector. The GT doesn't know what metal it is, only the conductivity.
Try soaking the IH penny in olive oil. Just don't rub it with fingers. Sometimes even a toothbrush is to hard.
