refusing to let the inclement weather daunt me, during 4 days of
almost constant rain here in the midwest.
i ventured forth with my water machine.hh pirate.
a kind friend turned me on to an abandoned city park
still on public land but not used as a park anymore. whoa
the old sign is still there but falling down and mossy
my first trip there to recon and test detect
very overgrown and brushy. a half hour walk in from civilization
each way left me about an hour to detect. i managed about 8 modern coins
in the old parking lot there which seems to be now a fire ring for fishermen or drinking parties.and the only place clear enuf to swing a coil
and some mighty rusted relics...iron
no oldies yet. again very overgrown
gonna get a old fashioned style steel weed whacker back there and pretend im at the driving range. im gonna massacre them weeds.
the isolation of the area combined with the driving rain and the leaden sky
was beautiful in a strange way. riverside also and very flooded with the
grey swirling waters adding to the effect. multiplied by my own private world under the headphones. trying to understand machine language

all too soon it was time to leave and stagger thru the brush in my squishy shoes yellow rain pants and soaked jackets.
when i finally reached the car the heater on . wolfing on sausage sandwiches candy and a thermos of hot coffee, HEAVEN
