Thought I'd stumble around a cornfield for
a bit, before they plant.

Only spent two and a half hours but managed
to find two wonderful lil finds.

Interesting, albeit short, day.

Neat little bell.

2018 (122).jpg

It even tells me it's age.
"PAT OCT 24 '75 - MAY 17 '78"
There's also a small diamond shaped mark
laying on it's side. Maker's Mark? :dontknow:

2018 (123).jpg

AND...if you look close, it still has its
little ball. Still works! Bet it hasn't rung
in a hundred years!

This, of course is my favorite. Not just
because it's a very nice indian head. It
has the green patina that I used to find
all the time, way back when! I was beginning
to think I'd never find another one like this!

So...a short romp and the fields are definitely
getting "greener"! ;)

Thanks for peeking!

Yes, they are. The manure spreaders have been out spreading their cheer, a couple fields have been disced and one "gasp" I saw was actually plowed today.

Ahh, my favorite color. Old green! Great job on that killer crotal, and the Indian too!

Nice! Fishy got him some Indian. πŸ™Œ

Nice assortment of finds WhadIFind (and love the Indian). Thanks for sharing...

Congrats on the nice finds!

I love those fields, soybean and green grass for me buddy, I have been known to stumble around a cornfield or two. In my book, a couple keepers like that makes for a nice walk.

Yay Whadi, Great looking IHP and the marked harness bell (I was told that because of the flat attachment for going though leather) is a beauty! Sub 8-)

Great finds!!! Love the Bell and IHP!

Whadi, nice finds. That bell certainly is an old one,and your I.H.took you back into the 1800's. Nice clean green one.

Yeah, I noticed the attachment spot. It even has a bit of the original leather attached! Nice that it has an easily read date. The diamond shape must be a maker's Mark. Haven't pinned yet.

I'm wondering, when it comes to crotal bells, is it better to leave as is or to shine it up?

Thanks!

Me too. It was just closer. No time. :dontknow:

Yes indeed, two great finds...congratulations! :occasion14:

That was a sweet little cornfield romp in the pantina green fields.
Nice IH and bell, not too many still have the little ball, date, or patent/makers's mark. Nice saves!

And Blingie is about to paint his nails? Its going to be tough getting the top off. I hope he doesn't fall in.
Fishy always has good cents.

Still waiting for things to bloom and sprout here. At lest we've transitioned from snow to rain as the major form of precipitation.

Leave them as green as the emerald eyes of an Irish lass...(IMHO :laughing7:)
