I Think Its A Musket Part..

I just don't know which part or from what type of gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated, it may help me put a date to a new site.

Also its kinda weird that these two identical parts were dug from the same hole. Any thoughts?

Are they 5" long or5 '?

They are 2-3/8" x 1/2"

Definitely don't resemble anything from a musket, can't help with what they are though.

I can only guess if musket related I could see them as homemade shims, could be for the forestock, butstock,??
