I think it's a buckle or something

Hello all found this in an field yesterday. it did havd a lttle peice of metal in the center but it came off, it was about the size of the space between the bar in the middle. there is no writing on eather side. its about the size of my cell phone.

so i think its a buckle or soemthing along those lines
