Long story short my dealer likes to surprise me with amazing coins in his foreign coin bin that he can not put under the glass case due to wear cleaning and other reasons. Anyway today he makes a joke telling me that I will be spending a lot of money due to how many new coins he put in. First thing I see is a copper with a date of 1731, after that old coins start coming in, a 1769 King George III Hibernia, a nice mid-1700's Louis French copper, plus tons of 1800's coins. I must have bought around 40 chinese cash coins too. A little bit in I grab a nice early copper and take a look, I quickly see rays, he first words that come to mind are, "Oh my god! Nova Constellatio!!". What do you think, could this be authentic? It looks pretty real to me but what do you think? When I finished searching I looked at my totals I thought, "Wow! If I found these metal detecting this would make my year!"

I was just told that it looks like Croby 1-B on a coin forum

What do I think, I think I'm jealous as all get out, that's what I think. Never see anything like that for sale out here.

So where is this coin guy located? lol, neat coins and Congrats on a good source!

nice of him to throw you a bone like that --while not in top notch shape ,,its clearly IDible

How does the edge of the coin look? Most of the counterfeits are made from thin Copper disks that are soldered together with a Lead interior. If there is no seam, then it is a fairly good likelihood that it is in fact genuine! Here's hoping for you!
