i think i found a cannonball

My uncle found this while diiging around his house would appreciate any help on if it is a real cannonball. It weighs about 10 to 15 pounds perfectly round but it does have 2 small holes drilled in the top of it.

oh yeah, I see the hole now, could only make out the two little ones to start with. Must be a shot put then

I have found a cannon ball and a shot put, that doesn't look like either, LOL! Almost looks like that is a cap and it would twist off with a spanner wrench, if anything is inside it would surely ID what it is. Or maybe it belonged to the previous owner and it had a chain attached. HH and let us know what you come up with, Mike
