I think i found a ball button ? with shank still inside

Hi all not sure if this is a ball button one of my finds today in a field i was learning my new Sov.GT i had a good signal pretty deep to it was a copper ball so i put it in my pouch ,when cleaning the dirt out of the ball here at home out fell a shank still on a copper plate i guess the bottom of the button ? it is the size of a dime , it fell in the ball sometime while buried a cool find iam lucky i did not lose the shank ,thank,s for any help Dd60
