Was out for a couple of hours yesterday at a park I had been to once before. The park is pretty big, with some older trees, however I don't think it's too old. Really hoping to get a silver coin or maybe a silver ring. So I'm meandering around, detecting by the trees and wide open spaces. Nothing of note, not even much change. Didn't find anything last time either. I have a Deus and prior to going out, did some some tests with some gold jewelry we have to get a feel for their numbers. Of course, all over the road. Anywhere from no signal, 20s and up to 60s for a small ring.
So back to the hunt..was heading back toward the car with not even a dollars worth of change and decided to hit a field where I parked. There were a couple of guys who were playing frisbee before, but were gone now so I had it to myself. Essentially a run down baseball diamond with no fence in the outfield and a big pavilion way past left field. Found change and small ring that I felt coming out of the ground was silver (although not marked). Feeling better and of course when you find a ring, gets the adrenaline going to continue a little longer. So a few minutes later I get a strong 84-85. Great, another penny. Wrong! This 14k beauty pops out! She's a fatty, nice and heavy. Marked "Ring O Love" on the inside which turns out to be Helzberg jewlers. Point being, dig EVERYTHING. I shudder to think of all the possible finds I passed up on because I don't want to dig pennies or "that's another piece of foil". Of course, mid 80s was not on my radar for gold. Guess it is now.
I found a 14k white gold band earlier this year but the silver color makes it a little less impressive. Yellow is so special. Super happy to get on the board with a yellow gold band. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!!
