I would like to know... time period/more... about this 3/4" button found in N.Y.
Back marks, i can see New York,but can`t read the rest.

1If I've read correctly 1821 was when this style of Infantry button (1-piece, convex) was adopted, and used through the early 1840's. Not really a script letter, but rather block style. (script I is usually associated with the Confederate Infantry). It may read "Young, Smith & Co." (at least that's one known back mark on these that includes "New York")
