Just went figuring on some clad and a nice walk in the sun.

First of all, as I'm walking along I spy with my little eye
what looked to be a rather LARGE roundness lying on the surface.

I ran the detector over what I saw, no signal.

My first smile of the day. (Plastic)

Then, on my way over to a tot lot, I crossed some bare dirt ground.
I wasn't really swinging, just sort of carrying. I got this surface hit.
Sounded like a bottle cap. I scraped away the hard packed surface:

Who woulda thunk it? This is a 60-ish school. :)

Not a lot in the "lot" but I did manage this one:

Not magnetic but not marked either.

Continuing on, I looked near a park bench and uncovered this:

Cute charm but I can't make out the marks. I suspect silver.

Along with some clad filling in the duller spots, I wasn't
doing too badly. But, I was wearing out fast. So, I actually
said out loud, "Ok, I'm officially headed back to the car now." LOL

About 10 feet from the car, somewhere in right field, I get this surface
quarter hit. I said, good, I'm too tired to dig deep anymore. I flip
the plug and I see something bigger than I expected:

I cocked my head to the side and said huh?

Then I recognized a bit of the pattern and the shape!

I said out loud, "WHOA - WHOA - WHOA !!!!"

Then, I stopped, looked around where I was, a newer schoolhouse, baseball field, surface hit, this kinda shape and I sat there and laughed right out loud!

I knew what I had and it was pretty funny joke. So, I enjoyed the laugh that
had been provided for my entertainment. I thanked Him and went home laughing.

Here's a few close ups anyway, so you can be entertained too.

All in all, a pretty satisfying, FUN hunt!

Wait I'm confused, I must b a newb cause I don't know if that's a replica or not

Ha! Great hunt! That's what it's all about....thanks for the laughs!

A fun day indeed! Very cool finds

Your method seems to still be working for you. I'd think that little charm/pendant is silver too since it has the marks.

What kind of coin is that:dontknow:

The suspense is killing me

I love the little sandal pendent. So what exactly is the last coin you found?

I'm sorry, CJ, I'm not an expert on ancient coins. But if you look at these new pics, (a little higher magnification), I believe you'll see the "bubbling up" that I think is an indication of plating. But, what I'd like to know is just what coin this was supposed to be. So I can mark it correctly for displaying in my collection.

I didn't mean to create a cliff-hanger. :)

It do seem to be helping somewhat, don't it. ;)

I see the marks on the sandal but I can't make out what they are, :dontknow:

Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies thus far! It is a hunt I will remember the rest of my days. :)
