I am fairly new to coin roll hunting but got addicted quick and went through roughly $14k in the last 2 months. I was recently out of town and found 18 keepers our of $1500 in halves. My average at home is only 1 per $500. I have a few basic questions that I could not find answers to here. Please help

1. How do I know which banks buy from lommis or brinks?
2. Should I always dump at a bank that using a different service? i.e. buy from a brinks bank and dump at a lommis.
3. My bank (US Bank) said they could not sell bags. I would like to give this a try. Should I be looking at smaller less commercialized banks?

and for what i believe is my most important question...

4. What businesses other than banks use half dollars I could possibly pull from? I have tried casinos with good success, but there are none around me.

Thanks!

1. You can either ask or just hang around until the armored car pulls up and see for yourself.

2. If its feasible, I would rather buy from one and dump on another. Unfortunately not an option for me. My choices are Loomis, Loomis, and Loomis. ;D

3. Every bank is different. Every branch can be different. There is a bank near me that has 2 branches in town. One will sell me the bag off the machine, the other won't. All you can do is ask.

4. You might try the service counter at grocery stores. Other than that I have no idea.

Good luck!

1. I would ask. Some banks won't give out that information in which case you just watch and see. Some banks get pickups from one courier service and have a different courier service pick up from them.

2. Yes

3. Many banks won't sell bags, but it never hurts to ask. If you can find a bank that will sell you bags take them all, nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and cents if you are into copper.

4. Donut shops are good producers of loose halves.
