I need some help on the ID of the copper bronze hub with flag 13 stars " ? "

This is just part of a much larger post ill be posting this coming week a few things i can not ID like this copper bronze hub with a flag and 13 stars it says US on the inside it still needs cleaning i dug it out of a just plowed field it was pretty deep also here in town along with a lot !! of good oldies ,if anyone can help i appreciate it Dd60

That is a possibility when did the US flag increase the number of stars on it from 13 ? iam trying to get a age of the field and adjacent woods iam hunting seems each section is 100 years earlier back to the 1600,s to 1800,s

I would be very surprised if that has anything to do with dating it. (looks fairly modern to me)

The 13 stars doesnt necessarily mean its that old but I am guessing it could be 1800's, but I dont know what it is. Whats the diameter? about baseball size?

Is the hole threaded?

Yes the hole is threaded i just cleaned it looks a lot better may have been silvered i can see some silver flecks

It was a great I.D., I would have leaned more towards an odd style of desk bell. Heres a picture of a bottom half, as you can see it does "fit".

It was a great I.D., I would have leaned more towards an odd style of desk bell. Heres a picture of a bottom half, as you can see it does "fit".

Could be a door bell. Some had a turn key or rachet on the outside of the door and the piece you dug would be on the inside. Patriotic motifs were popular on them. I've dug several with flag and Uncle Sam on them. I've dug a couple with Flower designs too.

Wow thats almost the same flag. ModernMiner says its a bicycle bell so I guess we can green check this one. Great ID IP and great matching pic from Don.
