I need help with a stone/earthen ware vase

First, I don't know the difference. Second, I can't find who the signature on the bottom belogs to. Tried everything including contrasting and pencil rubbing to find if I am missing something. Here are the pictures. Any help would be appreciated. A value on it would also be appreciated. Depending on what I hear it may go to my aspiring florist daughter. I am going to withold my thoughts on it so that I don't skew the feedback.
